Morium — ESP32-Based UV-C Sanitizing Humidifier

In progress Personal project Documentation-first design
Design Documents (PDF, 19 pages)

The project began with the thought that a humidifier sitting idle for three seasons is a waste, so I am designing a small appliance that combines one with a moss terrarium and earns its desk space all year.

Documentation comes before geometry: every decision from requirements down to component selection is written before it is drawn.

Current Status

Design Constraints

For the UV-C sanitizing section, the light-shielding structure and interlock were fixed as constraints before the enclosure geometry was drawn.

Separation of the water and electronics compartments, automatic UV shutoff through a hardware interlock when the lid opens, and ultrasonic cutoff within 100 ms at low water level were all locked in at the requirements stage.

CAD

Key dimensions are parameterized in CadQuery, so changing a dimension regenerates the geometry and every decision stays in the code.
